FAQ

+ Can God help me even though my life is a mess?

There is the story of Bartimaeus? Have you heard about him? The blind man in Jericho who cried out when he heard that Jesus was passing by. The people traveling to Jerusalem with Jesus wanted him to be silent, and told him sternly to be quiet, but he cried out all the more. He cried out "Son of David, have mercy on me" Jesus called for him, and he regained his sight. Calling out to Jesus for mercy, comes from the heart of one who knows they bring nothing to Jesus, and are dependant on His mercy. You can't be filled with Jesus, unless we first empty ourselves. It's because of your mess, that you need Him, and He loves you enough to help you. Yes Jesus can definitely help you.

+ Will Christianity change my life?

Peter tells them to make every effort to supplement their faith in 2 Peter 1:5-7 “Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.”

Begins with faith, ends with Love!

Recurring theme in the Epistles whether it is John or James or Peter, same thing is said over and over again.

He encourages the believers in Colossae to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, being fruitful.. Col 1:10 “so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God”

Fruit must be evident in the lives of Christs followers.

+ How Do I Become A Christian?

It starts with the Bible (Gods Word) and it ends with the Bible. No other doctrine, tradition, opinion matters. Let’s just do it right, with scripture references for all. Salvation and renewed relationship with God through Jesus is only offered by grace out of God's love (Romans 5:6-11; Ephesians 2:8-10). A person cannot be saved by his own good works, no matter how good they may be. One must recognize there is salvation in no other name (Acts 4:12), including their own.

  • Hear. God's grace must still be freely received by a believer who chooses to accept the gift on God's terms. You have to listen, and listen to Gods Word.
  • Believe. The hearing of the Word of God in an open heart produces a belief in Jesus as God and as the resurrected Savior of the world (Romans 10:17).
  • Confess. In acceptance of the grace, the Biblical pattern shows that such a faith is publicly confessed (Romans 10:8-10; 1 Timothy 6:13; Matthew 16:16; John 11:27).
  • Repent. A new commitment of repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10) is a major component of the faith as well (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30).
  • Be baptized. And the acceptance of the message of grace is completed in baptism into Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38) and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-39). Baptism must be accompanied by genuine faith in the working of God (Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21), knowing that His power and not my own works are uniting me with Jesus (Titus 3:5-7; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27). live faithfully

Once I am in Christ, I am a new creature (Ephesians 4:24; 2 Corinthians 5:17) - born again by water and the Spirit (John 3:1-7) and raised with Jesus to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:1-7). Now my Christian journey has just begun. We are then called to "run with endurance the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1-3), remaining faithful until the end (Revelation 2:10).

+ In worship, what music is authorised?

We look to the scriptures for guidance, and we go to Ephesians 5:19 where it states "speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord". We worship the Lord with joy in our heart and sing psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs, without instrumental accompaniment.
